Basil Tea Truffles

FINALLY.

i got to make something (indirectly) for me!

ohh, and i don't plan on stopping here, either. i have lots of plans. kind of like those samoa truffles, some peanut butter granola bars, and lots of things. (don't worry, my plans aren't all about my raging inner fat kid. imma put that asshole in his place somehow.)

so these basil tea truffles! fabulous! super! awesome! they are rich, but smooth. just take my word for this, you will want them in or around your mouth. here is the link again, including the recipe and directions. they are super easy. most truffles i have tried are pretty easy anyway, its just waiting that is the hard part. heat the cream. steep the tea and basil. strain and reheat the cream, add the chocolate. stir that mutha-f*cka like nobody's business. refrigerate. roll them b*tches out. refrigerate. roll the f*ck outta them balls in some more treats. apply balls directly to face. (yep, i went there. totally worth it. aaand i lost 2 of 3 readers.....)
my baaaad.

these are seriously delicious though. had some good responses from work, for the most part. i am sad that i don't think i can eat more than one at a time. something about tea and chocolate at the same time in certain quantities or versions doesn't settle right with me. maybe it's a black tea thing. my cocomint green tea was fine. i was able to drink a rooibos herbal tea and a cup of cocoa in the same day (although 10 hours apart) once too. i don't know. everything about me defies normal laws of physics and normalcy (and i'm pretty sure makes most people hate me for certain things. like my psychotic metabolism versus the amount of crap that i eat? probably number one cause of hate right there. i am making the effort to eat better though...so come on.)

let's get back to these truffles though. i haven't made a truffle that doesn't require being dipped in chocolate until these. it made them a lot easier, since all i had to do was roll them in delicious things like almonds (that look like sesame seeds because they went through my food processor), chocolate cookies, and coconut. half the time. i should look for more that are easier to make like this. i do like the way the chocolate dipped ones look though. which these samoa ones are gonna be epiiiiic.

before i make those, though, i have to finish this week's batch of cupcakes.

chocolate and vanilla, half of each kind filled with either vanilla mousse or peanut butter mousse. i stupidly threw them all into a box, so i have to figure out which ones are filled with which when i frost them tomorrow. how fun will that be?! they are for a communion on sunday. i do have most of the day to figure out which ones are which, but i have to get motivated to do something like that. maybe once they're done i can start the samoas....or go buy some stuff to make granola bars since i already have truffles and cupcakes laying around here begging me to eat them.

to suddenly change the subject, i didn't post anyone last week, so here is this week's crazy bird lady picture. sora and kairi! i love when they sit together. they each wait for the other to preen each other's heads, but neither will actually do it.

kairi is kind of staring at sora here though. maybe he's thinking about it. or just confused. he seems pretty confused about a lot of things.

kind of like me right now. why is it always so late every time i write on this damn thing? i need to plan my days better. i suppose i could have waited until tomorrow, but who wants to do that? actually, it's getting pretty cold, and i'm getting tired. today is definitely not like
thursday when i got out of work at almost 9:30 and it was still almost 80 degrees?! yes please! every day now!

i say this now, but in like a month or so when it actually does stay like this all the time, i will be complaining about sweating balls in the kitchen four nights a week, asking if anyone has a pool i can borrow. that's just how it goes.

okay, i am cutting this off here. it is about midnight. bed. i need it in my life. recovery time is essential. thanks for reading! ♥
