Donut Party Sunday... And Other Things

Donut buffet? I think thats a yes.

They were even baked homemade donuts. With real vanilla bean in the vanilla ones. Hell yeah. check out the recipe, its super easy, and donut pans are pretty cheap (especially when you have all those 40-50% off craft store coupons).

Look at all dem beans. Beany goodness. Courtesy of trader joes. I think i want to make a cheesecake with the other one. This is such a crazy time of the year because i wanna make everything i find. Or maybe its just when im hungry. Everything looks delicious when youre starving. Like this red velvet fudge i found when i couldnt sleep at 4 am the other day....followed by these cinnamon swirl pancakes...i almost got out of bed to make them at a ludicrous hour because i was so hungry. (There was a reason behind that, i didnt eat much the day before or else i wouldnt have wanted to eat my hand. Or my phone. At stupid hours no less.)

Hooray for donuts!! They came out pretty awese if i say so myself. Not to mention all the toppings we had. Oh yeah. Super sexy. Reeses pieces, toffee bits, chocolate chis, marshmallows....you can see from the pictures.

Not to mention donut mountain. Much like candy mountain, but made of donuts. Yep. Deliciousness.

And you better believe we made a couple with everything on em. Best ever. You cant get donuts like these anywhere else.

It was a good day to be stuck inside because of the rain.

Aside from stuffing my face with donuts, i did a little cooking on friday and made stuffed cabbage. Yes, i am polish (and italian), so i grew up with this kind of thing.

They came out okay. I used ground beef, going a long with the internet. Im pretty sure this is the only time i should not trust the internet, since we used to make them with ground pork. Not to mention my mom told me theres bacon involved....bacon is like magic, and i cant believe i didnt use it. So one more reason to make again. i cant believe i would neglect bacon. me, of all people. its blasphemy.

anyway, so i made those. i made donuts. what else did i do besides work? let me go through my pictures....

well, i also went apple picking on thursday. i got like 30 pounds of apples. got me some golden delicious and northern spy. i juiced a couple of them to add to other juicer juice....which by the way, i actually drank a tiny bit. i ingested green things. juice with apples (now), oranges, carrots and cucumbers. i have to get more oranges, or use less carrots next time. we got them because ron was doing a juicing thing for a while, and is trying to start back up again. he was taking too long and i didnt want the fruits and veggies to go bad, so i used the juicer....and then learned not to use all the carrots. but it was okay.

man, i feel like everything i do lately is just okay. well, the donuts were awesome, but meh, nobody is perfect. especially since the juicing and the cabbage was a first time for both.

so yes. apples. i need to find more things to make with apples. i am planning on a mini crisp, mini cobbler, (i got these tiny ceramic loaf pans, so i am going to make tiny versions since i dont usually eat baked apples in stuff like that).  but i also want these apple peanut butter cookies (that i will eat), and maybe some more muffins. more applesauce will probably be in order as well.

whats that? crazy bird lady time? of course, because it is a part of my daily routine. i mean, look at this asshole. hes licking my face, for no reason at all, other than that's what he does.

this was in the morning, i think it was a snapchat (since my fridge is on the wrong side). he was just hanging out with mom because he was being an obnoxious ass and screaming at the leaves all day long, and then at everyone in the room because he wanted attention. oh, my poopsicle.

the night before that i cut his nails, which was the only other reason i picked him up. its so much nicer when he can't claw the daylights out of my shoulder. so nice. he cant really grip or anything, which makes it funny, but less blood.

i still have to do the rest of them, aside from satch, but i'll post that picture in a second. i'm filling space, and about to show you why he is the bestest boy ever.

ohhhh my gosh he is so good!! hes 17, he lays on his back and lets me cut his nails. he was a littlle freaked out this time though, i am not sure if he is going blind or not. he worries me, but i love him. how many birds will lay on their back and let you do this? ive seen some bigger birds on the internet, but none that i know in person. take that.

pinterest has also been abusing my interests. i know its not even halloween yet, but i am so ready for christmas and all of its glittery goodness. dont care. too many peppermint and red velvet things (amidst all of the pumpkin things) are coming up, and i need it now. like i said before, it kind of forces the happy out of me, and it is beginning to ooze out slowly, despite how much i want to punch work in the ass.

not to mention all the craft stores have all of their holiday stuff out. yes. i am planning my cookie list soon. been thinking about what stuff i want for black friday, or even if anyone is bold enough to gift me something...which i know is unlikely, but i can dream. maybe i will share some things, and we will see who reads my blog and loves me enough to bring me a happy holiday season.

lastly, i found this on pinterest and it looked pretty cool. i am arm knitting. i just started this as blogger was loading up. i had to watch the video like three times, but i am on my way to a scarf. i will post the results on wednesday! or thursday. probably wednesday. i open, so i have the evening off. i bought this yarn today because it was on clearance for 97 cents. i also got a gray one with sequins. sequins are awesome.

so anyway, i will leave you with this picture of satch enjoying all of the caramel and chocolate drippings off of my plate. i love him. happy week, all!
