Weekend Away

 it is finally here! blogging to you from virginia beach this evening! it was a long week in anticipation, but i am glad to have a few days to chill out for a bit.

maybe you are wondering, though, why i am starting with a picture of a seagull.

well, we arrived at the chesapeake bay bridge around 12:30, and we stopped off to take some pictures, and this guy was just chilling on the barrier, a couple feet away from me. of course, i thought it would be an awesome idea to try to feed him. i went to the car to grab some triscuts.

he was a little shy, and wouldnt take them from me resting on the barrier. i tossed a few pieces his way to try and bribe him closer, but not too much luck. i did gain a few more followers, though.

why not hold it up in the air, right? maybe they will come closer that way.

I AM THE SEAGULL QUEEN.

im pretty sure i had about 20-30 seagulls floating around my head as i held crushed triscuts in the air. it was freaking fantastico, and it made my day.

he didnt want to leave though, and they had surrounded the car before we left, looking for more food. eventually we left though. as per usual, a 9 hour trip turned into about 12 because we stopped to take a nap and all.

stopped to strike a couple poses with the car with the bridge behind us....

 

we saw some boats....(and there are still quite a few out tonight, pretty sure a cruise ship went by not long ago all lit up)

here were the tunnel entrances/exits from the pier that is mid-bridge. it is strange to see them just hovering in the ocean.

ta daa! well, we crossed the bridge, and ended up on route 60, which brought us to atlantic avenue. 60 was a nice drive, it was situated in a state park. i am excited to see what else there is to explore around here this weekend! i love the outer banks, but this is a nice change! speaking of outer banks, duck donuts has made it's way here! so i get to have duck donuts in the morning! i am so pumped and was not expecting that. it could also mean, its only a matter of time for them to franchise their way up the coast to meee!! ☺

i can dream. its either that or move closer.

anyway, my phone will not connect to the internet. i will try again, since i have more pictures on my phone and don't want to use the data. i brought my crock pot and made us dinner, and am doing so again tomorrow! i will post the recipes later. in the mean time, have a good weekend! thanks for reading!
